Have you read John Piper’s book “Don’t Waste Your Life”? You should, it’s a great book. Covenant Life Church (Pastor Joshua Harris) is currently doing a sermon series themed “Don’t Waste Your…” The second message in the series given by C.J. Mahaney was titled “Don’t Waste Your Humor”. We recently watched a sermon series by Pastor Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church in Seattle called “Religion Saves & 9 Other Misconceptions.” The 9 part series addresses topics that were voted on by hundreds of thousands who’ve visited the Mars Hill Church website. Each sermon has a question and answer time where Mark answers questions on the fly that were asked via text messages during the sermon, cool stuff. These are great sermons about an hour each; check them out if you get a chance: http://www.marshillchurch.org/sermonseries/religionsaves

Those sound like reasonable activities when preparing for such a significant event. Read the rest of this entry »
I fondly remember writing my wedding vows 13 years ago and how I enjoyed crafting that declaration of love and pledge to my bride. With equal sincerity and commitment we promised each other in those early days to “always love God greater then each other.” There have been times over the years when I’ve needed to check myself on this.
